Page Rank Updates Affect Paid Post Earnings

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Have you been reading all the fallout from the latest October Google Page Rank Updates? The changes have produced some fairly dramatic falls in page rank for respected and established websites and blogs that just happened to sell paid links direct from the sites. As you will realise, Google has been trying to stop the practice of selling paid links on blogs to improve SEO and page rank for some time. At first it appeared that Google wanted to stop sites from gaining a higher page rank by this method, so you would expect the buyers of paid links to be in Google’s sights. But in this latest round of page rank updates the confidential Google algorithms have suddenly changed to reduce the page ranks of some providers of sponsored links instead. This site - which has not been writing sponsored blog posts - has an unchanged page rank, one of my blogs on the topic of wealth creation has finally achieved Page Rank 4, and my dog health site deservedly moved up from Page Rank 3 to Page Rank 4.

Business is about communication. One of the most basic forms of communication is being able to get from A to B. To do that you can’t afford to take risks with your licence. You need to know that you are always obeying the speed limits. Failing to do that can mean losing your ability to drive. So you need the best radar detector you can get. Don’t take risks with your license- get your self a detector and watch those speed limits!

Using your Home as a Business Centre

Starting your business from your own home reduces the investment that you need to make, so it can be an appealing idea: setting up a profitable home business needs plenty of organization and self discipline. Your home continues to be the place where you and your family live, and the business cannot be allowed to take over or no-one will do well.

The days of dormitory suburbs are over, and every town and village contains aspiring teleworkers, desperate to leave soul-destroying jobs in large conglomerates. The home has massive potential to adapt for multiple use, with a little planning and adaptation.

If you need a well resourced home office for your business, choose an area that is comfortable and suitable. Decide how much space you need, make sure it is well lit and warm enough. If you are using your computer, make sure your seat is well designed. Repetitive strain and neck injuries are sadly becoming more common and this will not help your business!

Businesses that require stock can be a real challenge for the home entrepreneur. Look for a space where you can access the items easily, and store them at the right temperature without causing a hazard to anyone else at home. If you turn a garage over to storage of goods, that could be eligible for a tax allowance so check with your accountant.

Do you need to meet customers or clients at your home? Make sure you have an area that looks professional and businesslike, where you can take them without tripping over bicycles or children’s toys. If you start to get more than a couple of visitors a day, you will need to think about getting permission to carry on a formal business from the local council - before the neighbours start complaining. Or meet your visitors elsewhere - depending on the situation, you may consider checking out cafes or hotels where noise levels are not too high. Otherwise look for a local serviced office centre, where you can often rent space by the day or even the hour.

Using your home as a business centre can save you a lot of cash, and help you get started in the tough early days of your new home business.

Paid Blog Posts - Top Paying Sites in September

Here is my ranking of the Paid to Blog or Paid to Post sites for Bloggers who want to earn money, for the month of September. My review is based on the amounts they have paid to me to write reviews and sponsored posts on my blogs. You can check the full details of how these sponsored blog posting sites work in my earlier review of the Top Ten sites for Paid Blog Posts in August.

1. PayPerPost
PayPerPost has returned to the top position as a site where you can get paid for blog postings. They have now restored the limit on the opportunities you can take to three per day for each blog you have registered at the site, so you have scope to earn more money for blogging now. The Admin at this site are very strict on interim posts, and they insist on one non-sponsored before and after each PPP post. The number of posting opportunities has been higher recently, most days there are nearly 250 opportunities showing when you log in. Read more »
