Paid Links Attack by Google

I wrote at the end of October about the latest Google Page Rank Update and its effects on many well known websites. Google declared its opposition to sites that sell paid links several months ago – yes, paid links are the mainstay of Google’s business but they do not like other people to make money from paid links. When the page rank update took effect the loss of page rank was damaging to a number of high profile respected websites. For my own businesses I noticed that several of my websites and blogs gained their first page rank or had an increased page rank update. Google states clearly that page rank is decided by a complex algorithm that balances the quality of the website content with its popularity. Popularity is measured by a mix of inbound links, readership and numerous other SEO factors. So how did the Google algorithm measure the page rank of a Dog Health Tips site as PR 4 one day in October, and Page Rank 0 a few days later? Google deny that they were targeting sites that were selling text links, but there is no other explanation for these page rank reductions.

Paid Blog Posts – October Top Paying Sites

Here are the figures on the highest paying Paid to Post or Paid to Blog sites for Bloggers who aim to make money by writing paid reviews on their blogs, for the month of October 2007. This update is written according to the amounts the different paid blogging sites paid to me for including reviews of their advertisers’ websites on my blogs. If you wnat to know more about the way that sponsored blog posting sites work in my review of the Top Ten sites for Paid Blog Posts in August.

I have not been online as often as usual this month because I had some contract work, so my earnings were lower than usual and the ranks of the different paid sites have changed. This may have been caused partly because I was not logged in all day (as I usually am) so on the sites where opportunities have to be claimed I am likely to have misssed out. So this month’s top earning sites are likely to be the best for you if you are blogging part time after you finish your day job. Read more »

Page Rank Updates Affect Paid Post Earnings

Have you been reading all the fallout from the latest October Google Page Rank Updates? The changes have produced some fairly dramatic falls in page rank for respected and established websites and blogs that just happened to sell paid links direct from the sites. As you will realise, Google has been trying to stop the practice of selling paid links on blogs to improve SEO and page rank for some time. At first it appeared that Google wanted to stop sites from gaining a higher page rank by this method, so you would expect the buyers of paid links to be in Google’s sights. But in this latest round of page rank updates the confidential Google algorithms have suddenly changed to reduce the page ranks of some providers of sponsored links instead. This site – which has not been writing sponsored blog posts – has an unchanged page rank, one of my blogs on the topic of wealth creation has finally achieved Page Rank 4, and my dog health site deservedly moved up from Page Rank 3 to Page Rank 4.

Paid Blog Posts – Top Paying Sites in September

Here is my ranking of the Paid to Blog or Paid to Post sites for Bloggers who want to earn money, for the month of September. My review is based on the amounts they have paid to me to write reviews and sponsored posts on my blogs. 1. PayPerPost
PayPerPost has returned to the top position as a site where you can get paid for blog postings. They have now restored the limit on the opportunities you can take to three per day for each blog you have registered at the site, so you have scope to earn more money for blogging now. The Admin at this site are very strict on interim posts, and they insist on one non-sponsored before and after each PPP post. The number of posting opportunities has been higher recently, most days there are nearly 250 opportunities showing when you log in. Read more »

Paid Blog Postings Share Internet Wealth Around

There have been some interesting articles this week on the issue of whether blogs should carry paid advertising and sponsored links, this is a debate that has been running for a while ever since Google asked bloggers and webmasters to report any paid links that they saw on other websites or blogs. Obviously they did not realise that this could be a surefire sneaky way to sabotage a competitor’s website if you were both trying to rank highly for the same keywords. Read more »
