There are some good reasons why I have not written lately on this subject. Firstly, I used to write about the Top Ten Sites, then later the Top Five Paid to Post Sites – not any more.  The supply of legitimate paid blogging assignments has diminished over the past year, and I am now working regularly with only two companies.

The companies that treat bloggers well are now a rarity. PayPerPost, which also runs Izea and SocialSpark, is trying to make money out of the scarcity of assignments by offering payouts of just 50 cents for a blog post of 50 words.  PayingPost is following a similar business model, they all require their code to be embedded in the header of your blog and this exposes the site to the search engines as a seller of paid links.  I feel the levels of payment offered in return for such a presence on websites  is an insult and I would rather go and stack shelves in a shop than allow them to make more money out of my virtual real estate.
